Humans vs AI
I don't know if you have noticed but for a while now Machines have become better than humans at doing narrow tasks like playing Chess, Go and now video-games.
The Google Deepmind project already surpasses grandmasters.
However, since we are a long way from artificial general intelligence (AGI).
I see the counterintuitive path of becoming a generalist rather than a specialist starting to pay off soon.
One thing I discover is that, as Humans don’t play the same game, we are built for resilience and equilibrium, not mere optimisation, which in any case would be psychopathic.
Let’s embrace generalists and broadening our perspectives, becoming more creative and more complete by gathering competencies and knowledge from a larger spectrum.
It may seem inefficient at first but finding the new connections between seemingly disconnected systems is where we ought to push the boundary because AI cannot go there yet.
So Extrapolate, induce and make analogies because you can. this is our edge.
